England fans come for John McGinn as he’s brutally targeted over Watkins goad

Jubilant England fans have made a beeline for John McGinn as they take glee in rubbing the Scotland star’s nose in their last-gasp winner over the Netherlands.

Ollie Watkins thrilled a nation with his late goal which sealed Gareth Southgate’s side a second consecutive appearance in the final at the Euros. Sizzling Spain lie in wait but a section of the Three Lions support momentarily stopped chucking their beers in the sky to target McGinn. The Aston Villa captain is public enemy number one in the eyes of the trolls who couldn’t resist reminding him of his claim about club team-mate Ollie Watkins.

David Swann jokes: “While Ollie Watkins has just scored the winner, John McGinn is buying his sixth shirt to support England’s opposition”. While X user Nate wrote: “From Frankfurt to Berlin who the f*** is John McGinn.”

McGinn: “Do you?”

Watkins: “Not the competition, I mean his game.”

McGinn: “But you want Scotland to win? When you’re watching Scotland?”
