Evil ex told woman she would be ‘buried in Scotland’ after 16-mile terror ride
A woman was taken on a 16-mile terror ride by an evil ex who attacked her then warned she would be taken to Scotland and buried.
Bram Storey, 32, offered to give his former girlfriend a lift so she could meet her friends for a meal to celebrate a new job in November 2021. The journey was supposed to be from Morpeth in Northumberland to Newcastle – but as they approached the destination Storey began to question and accuse her. He then drove to a secluded spot in the city and started to shout.
Newcastle Crown Court heard Storey then attacked her with such force she was left with a black eye and a broken bone in her hand. He then headed back to Northumberland and warned she would be dumped in the middle of nowhere or taken to Scotland and buried.
The victim said the ordeal has changed her life forever and she fears for Storey’s future partners. Prosecutor Michael Bunch said the victim, who previously had a five-year relationship with Storey, said they atmosphere between them had initially been “good”. But during the journey to Newcastle he started to change and demanded to see her mobile phone before he parked up.
Mr Bunch added: “He suddenly began to attack her. He used the back of his hand to strike her repeatedly to the head, causing her nose to bleed. She raised her hand to protect herself and felt a further blow, immediate pain and it caused her numbness to he fingers.
“After that he struck her two further times to the face and arm. She asked to be allowed to go to McDonalds to clean herself up but he refused and began to drive her back towards Morpeth. He threatened first to leave her in the middle of nowhere then to drive her to Scotland and bury her.”

The court heard Storey parked at his own address and the woman managed to get out of the car but was then dragged into his house, where he stamped on her phone before she was finally able to flee to safety. The woman was left with a laceration to her nose, a black eye, bruising to her arm and had a fracture to one of the bones in her hand which was put in a splint at hospital.
She said in a victim impact statement, which she bravely read in court herself, she was left scared of bumping into Storey, “constantly on egg shells” and fears getting involved with a man again.
She added: “I was fully prepared to give evidence in court, I would have happily put myself through the anguish of being cross examined just to prevent anyone else suffering like I did. I will never be able to forget this evening, which has changed my life forever.”
She added: “I have fear for any other females who begin a relationship with Bram. I am concerned about their welfare and how he would treat them. He is unpredictable.”
The victim added that she hopes Bram’s behaviour is available through Clare’s Law “for all to see”. Storey, of Grange Road in Morpeth, admitted assault and criminal damage.
He also pleaded guilty to an unrelated charge of criminal damage in relation to a female neighbour’s car. Miss Recorder Felicity Davies sentenced him to 12 months behind bars with an indefinite restraining order.
The recorder said the victim must have been caused “enormous fear and anxiety”. The court heard Storey has employment prospects as a mechanic and is now in a “steady” relationship.
