Mason has a connection to the Flyers, as he is the nephew of former Flyers captain Keith Primeau. Keith played the final six years of his NHL career as a Flyer, posting 87 goals, 213 points, and 414 penalty minutes in 312 games.

He is also the son of former NHL player Wayne Primeau, who played 15 seasons split between the Buffalo Sabres, Tampa Bay Lightning, Pittsburgh Penguins, San Jose Sharks, Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames, and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Mason, 23, was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights as the 141st overall pick of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-6 forward played in 44 games last season with the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights, recording two goals and six points. He also played in 14 games with the Savannah Ghost Pirates of the ECHL, posting four goals and nine points.

Seeing another Primeau join the Flyers’ AHL affiliate is pretty cool. He will now look to make a positive impact with the Phantoms from here.
