Ex-Flyers Forward Released By New Team
During the off-season, former Philadelphia Flyers forward Wade Allison signed a one-year contract with Barys Astana of the KHL. This marked the 26-year-old’s first time playing professional hockey for a non-North American team.

However, Allison’s time with Barys Astana has come to a quick end, as the KHL club waived and released earlier this week. In addition, fellow former NHL forward Chase DeLeo was also waived and released by Barys Astana.

Allison appeared in 11 games for Barys Astana, where he had two goals, zero assists, and 16 penalty minutes.
The Flyers selected Allison as the 52nd overall pick of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. The Carman, Manitoba native played in 75 games over three seasons with the Flyers, posting 13 goals, 22 points, and 219 hits.
During Allison’s final season with the Flyers organization in 2023-24, he spent the entire year with their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. In 46 games with the Phantoms that season, he had 10 goals and 17 points. His time with the Flyers organization would end later that season, as he was dealt to the Nashville Predators for Denis Gurianov.
