Ex Rangers star Fashion Sakala scores for Al-Fayha from ridiculously tight angle
Fashion Sakala is seriously making a name for himself over in the Saudi Pro League.
The electric former Rangers winger decided to end his two-year stay at Ibrox earlier this month and completed a move to Al-Fayha for a fee believed to be in the region of £4million. For the Light Blues, that can be heralded as great business particularly for a player who never quite seemed to hit the heights required to shine in Govan.
But it seems the opposite can be said of Sakala’s burgeoning tenure in the Middle East. He opened his goal-scoring account for his new Saudi club on his debut and on his second start, has managed to net yet another impressive goal from a ridiculously tight angle against Neymar’s new team Al-Hilal.
The 26-year-old Zambian international started as a lone striker and in the 15th minute, collected the ball on the wing just yards from the byline.
He sized up his opponent and bamboozled the defender with a series of stepovers. Sakala then shifted the ball onto his left foot and rifled a shot high into the opposite corner of the net with impressive accuracy to put Al-Fayha in front.
Al-Hilal did equalise five minutes later but Sakala’s goal sparked the contest into life and Rangers fans may be wondering where on earth that type of finish was when the pacy winger plied his trade in Glasgow.
