Exciting seabird jobs advertised in Scotland

The National Trust for Scotland (NTS) is looking to fill several available positions to work with seabirds from this summer.

NTS has advertised a Seabird Ecologist position, which will cover a mix of seabird research and operational work at some of Scotland’s most important and beautiful seabird sanctuaries (including St Kilda, Mingulay, the Treshnish Isles, Staffa, Fair Isle, Unst, St Abbs Head and others), working with seabird species including Puffin, Great Skua and storm petrels.

The role requires someone with good ornithological skills (including bird handling) who also likes innovation with technology as well as practical project work, in order to deliver NTS’s seabird actions in the Plan for Nature. It is an 18-month contract covering two summers and a winter in between.

The National Trust for Scotland is looking for a seabird enthusiasts to work with species such as Puffin in Scotland this summer (Bethan Clyne).

NTS is also currently advertising Ranger roles on several of its seabird islands for the forthcoming season.

More information on the roles, as well as the application process for all the posts, can be found on the NTS website.
