Falcons vs. Eagles Monday Night Football live updates: Philadelphia returns after Brazil win to take on Atlanta

After a successful trip to Brazil and a 34-29 comeback win over the Packers last week, the Eagles return to Philadelphia for their home opener against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night.

The Eagles offense got off to a rocky start in their first game game, where they turned the ball over deep in their own end twice, but the defense only allowed two field goals, which set the stage for the Eagles to right the ship. Running back Saquon Barkley was the star of the show, tying an Eagles record with three touchdowns in his debut with Philadelphia.

Kirk Cousins‘ debut in Atlanta wasn’t quite as well received. The veteran signal caller threw two interceptions in his first game with the Falcons — an 18-10 loss to the Steelers. The Falcons’ defense came to play in Week 1, however, keeping the Steelers out of the end zone and allowing just 270 yards of offense.

Live10 updates

  • Atlanta may want to stick with the run. Kirk Cousins throws incomplete on two of his three passes, with the one completion going for six yards. Falcons don’t get the first down and punt.

  • The Falcons look like they want to establish the run. Their opening two plays were runs by Bijan Robinson, both going for seven yards.

  • The crowd at Lincoln Financial Field is already getting grumpy at the Eagles’ playcalling with a 3-yard run by Hurts on 3rd-and-9. Philadelphia will punt.

  • Eagles get the ball first with Will Shipley returning the kickoff to the 32-yard line.

Philadelphia’s first play is a 15-yard pass from Jalen Hurts to Grant Calcaterra.

  • Jason Kelce’s pregame dance

Still some time before kickoff if you need to get the blood flowing. Maybe the Jason Kelce pregame dance will help you there?

  • Unanimous pick jinx?

All five of ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” panelists and guests picked the Eagles (favored by 5.5 points) to beat the Falcons. Jason Kelce, notably, picked Philadelphia to win by 50. New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson agreed.
