Police have urged the public to check dashcam footage and keep an eye out for a missing Inverness man.

Police Scotland say the family of Richard Soper is “very concerned” for his wellbeing after he went missing on Monday afternoon.

The 70-year-old was last seen in the Harbour Road area of Inverness, close to the Land Rover garage, at around 2.40pm.

He is described as white, has a slim build and is around 6ft tall. He was wearing a white, check shirt, blue gilet and brown trousers, and also has a white square plaster at the back of his neck. When last seen he was walking up Harbour Road towards Longman Road.

Officers said it was “very out of character” for Richard to head off and not tell anyone where he is going.

Inspector David MacAlpine said: “We are checking CCTV footage from in and around the area and I am asking anyone who may have seen Richard to contact us. His family is very concerned and just want him home safe and well. I’d ask motorists to check their dash cams in case they have captured a picture of Richard which will assist our ongoing inquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting “incident number 2137 of Monday, June 3”.
