FlixBus launches NEC online tickets to help Scotland travel this Christmas – Scottish Business News

THE fastest-growing coach network in Scotland, FlixBus, is gearing up to drive Scottish passengers home for the holidays, offering great ways to save on travel this Christmas.

The travel tech company has launched a new feature on its website, allowing National Entitlement Card (NEC) holders to book tickets online in advance.

FlixBus has offered NEC holders to turn and travel for free on its services since it launched its Scottish network last year, and this additional service offers a convenient way to confirm travel ahead of time.

According to research, the average Scottish household spent £523.00 last yuletide, with this cost expected to rise in 2023 due to high inflation increases.

FlixBus, which won ‘Best Bus Service’ at this year’s UK Bus Awards, grew its Scottish network fivefold this summer.

The company aims to support consumers during the expensive festive period with affordable tickets, starting at £2.49, and free travel for Young Scot cardholders and anyone with an eligible NEC.

Sustainable green coaches will be available throughout Christmas, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day offering travel between Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Perth, Dundee, Dunfermline, and Stirling.

FlixBus will also return to Aberdeen Bus Station on Guild Street as of Monday 4 December, offering passengers convenient shelter and seating for passengers waiting to board.

Customers can use Flix services to visit the range of festive markets now open across the country, including Glasgow’s Winterfest and Edinburgh’s Christmas Market.

FlixBus will also support those travelling across the border during the upcoming rolling rail strikes, due to take place 2 – 8 December.

Andreas Schorling, Managing Director of FlixBus UK said: “This time of year is about coming together with loved ones, but this shouldn’t come at a high cost! We’re very proud of the Scottish network we’ve built this year, so consumers can save their hard-earned cash for gifts and celebrating.

“We’re delighted to offer NEC holders the ability to book tickets online with ease, meaning over 1.2 million Scottish citizens can enjoy reliable and sustainable transport for free on our network.”

With over 60 destinations on its network, and prices starting at just £2.49 on some Scottish routes, tickets can be booked at www.flixbus.co.uk or the FlixBus App.
