Flyers Forward Should Be Popular Trade Target
Nearing the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton was one of the league’s most-talked-about trade candidates. While the 30-year-old forward generated interest around the NHL, he stayed put for the remainder of the season. The same can be said about this summer.

However, although Laughton did not get traded during this past season or this summer, he is a clear player to watch yet again heading into the 2024-25 season.
Laughton should once again get the attention of other NHL clubs this season. This is because he is an impactful third-line forward who provides solid secondary offensive production, plays a solid defensive game, and is not afraid to throw the body. Thus, he should once again be a popular player for contenders looking to boost their top nine. He is simply the kind of forward that every playoff team would love to have.
Laughton is also an appealing trade target because he has an affordable $3 million cap hit and is under contract until the completion of the 2025-26 season. In addition, he has blossomed into an impactful leader, as evidenced by the Oakville, Ontario native sporting the ‘A’ on his sweater.
With all of this, Laughton could once again be one of the NHL’s most popular trade candidates in 2024-25. Yet, when noting that he has two years left on his deal, the Flyers do not need to rush a move and can wait for the best offer.
