Football’s fashion faux pas as Scots icons join Man City star on worst dressed list

FOOTBALLERS and fashion sometimes go hand-in-hand, sometimes they don’t.

Just ask Man City and England star Jack Grealish!

The midfield ace has a £10million Gucci deal but that hasn’t stopped him from being labelled Man City‘s WORST dressed player.

Grealish, 28, appeared on the club’s YouTube channel last year where he assessed his teammates’ fashion.

Having given himself, modestly, an A he went on to give Ruben Dias a brutal D among others!

Now, his City pals have exacted their revenge.

Rodri has branded Grealish’s style as “awful, awful” and insisted he is the worst dressed player at the club.

The stunned winger, who has a six figure deal with BoohooMAN as well as Gucci, posted the clip on his Instagram page with a shocked face emoji.

Big name footie stars across the globe have signed huge deals with iconic fashion brands – but there have been plenty of fashion own goals along the way too!

And it isn’t just Grealish and the Premier League either – Scottish football has seen its own fair share of fashion faux pas over the years!

Here are some of the stars who would be kicked into touch by the fashion police.

Oli McBurnie

Scotland striker McBurnie goes for man of the match in this red and brown tracksuit co-ord.

I wonder if the knee-highs are for added socks appeal?

James Maddison

The Spurs ace – and former Aberdeen loanee – is perhaps hoping to get ahead in the fashion stakes in this bucket hat, shorts and bright T-shirt combo.

He’d fit right in at Glastonbury festival.

Dressing down or dressing GOWN?

Linked with a move to Rangers before joining Sheffield United, the ex-Everton man looks like he’s in his PJs ready for bed.

And he won’t half stand out with his patterned cravat.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

THE Everton forward channelled “Man from Del Monte” vibes in this pastel suit at an Armani fashion show.

Blue is clearly his shade – and it’s his team’s colour too.

Erling Haaland

Scotland’s Euro qualifying foe and Man City goal machine is a ray of sunshine in this silky yellow shirt and trouser set.

They could be posh PJs – or even 1970s- inspired party gear.

Hector Bellerin

THERE’S nowhere to hide for the Spanish right-back in this black leather coat.

His laidback style, complete with shades, echoes Keanu Reeves look in The Matrix.

Bellerin played at Ibrox last week for Real Betis in their defeat to Rangers in the Europa League.

….and a few Scottish football classics

Gazza wasn’t afraid of some daring looks during his time in Scotland – how about this cardigan, shorts and no socks combination?
