Former Flyers Star Gets Bad Injury News
Former Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere is having an excellent 2024-25 season with the Carolina Hurricanes. In 35 games, the 5-foot-11 defenseman has six goals and 27 points. This is great production, especially when noting that the former Flyer is only carrying an affordable $3.2 million cap hit.

However, Gostisbehere’s season will now need to be put on pause for what appears to be a decent amount of time.
While speaking to reporters, Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour shared that Gostisbehere is dealing with an injury that is “more than day-to-day.”
This is such tough news for Gostisbehere, especially when noting that he is having such a strong season. We will now need to wait and see how much time the offensive defenseman misses from here.
In 381 games over seven seasons as a Flyer, Gostisbehere had 60 goals and 219 points.
