Former Red Wings Sniper On Goal Streak
Everybody loves a good comeback story.
This is a story about someone who experienced success, went through some low times, and then came up the other side with a refreshed perspective and some form of success.
Detroit Red Wings fans hope the latest comeback story is Jakub Vrana.
Vrana started his NHL career with the Washington Capitals. He played almost five seasons there before being traded to the Red Wings mid-season.
However, he struggled on and off the ice, leading to him being traded two seasons later to the St. Louis Blues in 2022-23.
This past summer, he signed with the Capitals, coming full circle.
He’s off to a great start, with seven points in 14 games while playing 10:18 a night. Vrana has scored in back-to-back games to boot.
Last night, the Capitals defeated the Vegas Golden Knights. Vrana’s goal was the game-winning tally, resulting in a 5-2 victory.
On a team where Alex Ovechkin is getting all the press, Vrana is putting together a respectable season on the scoresheet. This is good for all parties, the player and the team alike.
Let’s hope that this comeback is here to stay.
