Former Sabres Top Prospect On Fire In AHL

During this past off-season, the Buffalo Sabres traded former top prospect Matt Savoie to the Edmonton Oilers for Ryan McLeod and Tyler Tullio.

McLeod has proven to be a solid addition for the Sabres, posting six goals and 17 points in his first 37 games. However, Savoie is starting to heat up big time with the Oilers’ AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors.

Over his last three games with the Condors, Savoie has two goals and seven points. He also has four goals and nine points in his last five games. Due to his hot streak, the 2022 ninth-overall pick now has eight goals and 21 points in 27 games with Bakersfield this season.

If Savoie continues to play this well with the Condors, he could very well receive a chance on the Oilers’ NHL roster in the near future. We will need to wait and see what happens on that front from here.
