Stuart Hogg, Scotland’s all-time leading try scorer, is poised to complete a stunning career revival by signing with Montpellier in July.

The Scotland legend had dramatically announced his retirement ahead of the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France, citing a worn-out body as his reason for stepping away from the game.
In a surprising development, the former Exeter Chiefs full-back is now set to join French Pro 14 side Montpellier.
Reports reveal that Hogg also engaged in discussions with clubs in England and Japan but ultimately opted for Montpellier.
The Telegraph has confirmed the news, with Hogg expected to fly out in the coming days.
Much like Courtney Lawes, who retired from England duty, Hogg is reportedly eager to feature for the 2025 British & Irish Lions if selected.
A return to the Scotland squad seems likely if he can recapture his best form, as he updated his Instagram profile picture to one of himself playing for the men in blue, along with #1025 in his bio.
Following Northampton Saints Premiership triumph at Twickenham yesterday, Lawes expressed his desire to tour with Andy Farrell’s Lions in 2025.
“I don’t think it’s any secret, I’d love to be involved in another Lions tour,” said Lawes.
“The reason I retired from international rugby is because I didn’t want to be away every couple of months, for months on end.
“Whereas the Lions is two months, I can bring my family out and we can have a good time. I’m not expecting it, but if I get the opportunity, I’ll be there.”
