Stalock played 179 games in the NHL, 63 with the Sharks. He also played for the Minnesota Wild and Chicago Blackhawks. The netminder was part of the Anaheim Ducks and Edmonton Oilers AHL affiliates.

Stalock had to step away from hockey in 2020 as he suffered from Myocarditis due to complications from COVID-19. Stalock had just completed a season with the Wild where he won a career high 20 games.

Today, the Sharks announced the 37-year-old will be one of Dan Rusanowsky’s alternating color commentators for the Sharks Audio Network.

At 5’11, Stalock had an untraditional style in the crease. He showed an “old-fashioned” style and was a playmaker with the puck. His ability to pass and keep the play moving allowed his teams to have easier breakouts.

Stalock had four assists in his NHL career. He was a fan favorite at every destination he played at. He would often participate in Minnesota’s Da Beauty League every summer. He is originally from Saint Paul, Minn.

It is unclear at this time what games he will broadcast with Rusanowsky, but he should be featured throughout the season. The Sharks announced he could make some appearances on the TV broadcasts, but did not specify in what capacity.
