Grealish misses Fulham clash due to ‘slight thigh injury’
- Jack Grealish missed Man City’s game against Fulham due to a thigh problem
- The winger may now miss England’s games against Ukraine and Scotland
- City are also missing John Stones and Kevin de Bruyne due to injury
Jack Grealish did not feature in Manchester City‘s Premier League game against Fulham due to a ‘slight thigh injury’.
The winger could now miss England’s upcoming games against Ukraine and Scotland, with no news yet as to whether he will join up with Gareth Southgate‘s squad on Monday.
The Manchester Evening News reported the injury on Saturday after Grealish was not named in the City side to face the Cottagers.
They added that the 27-year-old will likely not be out for long, which will be a relief for Pep Guardiola.
The City boss, who was also absent for the Fulham game as he continues his recovery from minor back surgery, is already without John Stones and Kevin de Bruyne due to injury.
The Treble winners have barely missed them though, starting the new Premier League season with four wins in a row.
Guardiola is expected to return to the dugout after the international break, with defender Stones also set to be available for selection by then as well.
With Cole Palmer allowed to join Chelsea for £45million on the final day of the transfer window and James McAtee sent on loan to Sheffield United, City could now be short of attacking options.
Stand-in boss Juanma Lillo was forced to name two goalkeepers on the bench against Fulham as the squad continues to be stretched by injuries.
