Gregor Townsend full of praise for young Scotland starts after Canada win
Gregor Townsend praised his young guns for having seized their opportunity as a host of new faces shone in Scotland’s 73-12 win over Canada in their first summer Test.
The Scots ran in 11 tries in Ottawa, with the debutants Arron Reed and Gus Warr each scoring twice. There was a further brace for Dylan Richardson on his second international appearance, while Harry Paterson touched down on his own. The other tries came from Josh Bayliss, Kyle Steyn, Jamie Dobie and Stafford McDowall, the latter pair getting onto the scoresheet for the first time at this level.
