Gym franchise set to open two more studios in Scotland

Growing gym franchise F45 is set to open two more fitness studios in Scotland.

Franchisee Michael Quigley set up the company’s first Scottish site in 2019 when he opened a studio on West Campbell Street in Glasgow.

The two new studios will be based in Livingston and the Southside of Glasgow.

F45 has secured a 3,450 sq ft facility near the Livingston Designer Outlet, which has its own carpark and changing rooms, while the business is still looking for a premise in Glasgow’s Southside, so this is expected to open by the end of the year.

Quigley said: “Expanding the business to this area of Glasgow was always an integral part of the plan and although there are some great national and independent gyms in that area already, there isn’t anything quite like F45.”

The gyms, which are used by celebrities like Mark Wahlberg, Liam Payne, Olly Murs, Nicole Richie, Millie Mackintosh and Cindy Crawford, offer 45 minute intense workout sessions. Last year, F45 signed up David Beckham as its new ambassador, who recently announced the opening of his own F45 Studio in London.

Quigley continued: “We opened our Glasgow City Centre studio in late 2019 and then the pandemic hit which brought us quite a few challenges, but since fully reopening the business has been thriving.

“I’m passionate about health and fitness and have witnessed first-hand how F45 is taking the global fitness world by storm after taking my first class while I was on holiday in Australia.
