Harry Potter fans can do the ultimate road trip in just one day
Harry Potter enthusiasts seeking a magical adventure this summer might want to consider this film location road trip.
Fans of the Wizarding World will be spellbound by this captivating journey around Scotland’s filming locations, which can be completed in just one day.
The itinerary has seven stops and takes around eight hours in total. It includes picturesque hills and Scottish landscapes that featured prominently in several Harry Potter films.
If you’re unsure about the best route to take, Macklin Motors, a Scottish car dealership, has got your back. They’ve designed the ultimate road trip for Potterheads.
While the journey can be accomplished in a single day, it might be worth extending your stay for one or two nights to fully appreciate the stunning locations, reports the Mirror.
The magical journey begins in the valley of Glen Etive, followed by a short half-hour drive to Rannoch Moor.
Both locations were used as settings in the Deathly Hallows films.
Next up is Steall Falls, Great Britain’s second highest waterfall, which was featured in the thrilling dragon chase scene in the Goblet of Fire.
A further 40-minute drive will bring you to the most iconic Harry Potter filming location in Scotland: Glenfinnan Viaduct.
This breathtaking railway viaduct will undoubtedly be familiar to wizards and witches from the unforgettable flying car sequence in the Chamber of Secrets.
The second last stop on the journey is Loch Morar, instantly recognisable to fans as Hogwarts Lake from the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Then, a lengthy drive across the Scottish Highlands will reveal the final filming location: Black Rock Gorge.
This imposing cavern featured in the Goblet of Fire, playing a key role during the Triwizard Tournament.
A spokesperson from Macklin Motors commented: “Whether for a bank holiday weekend or a week in the Summer holidays, finding the perfect holiday destination for the entire family is always a tricky task.”
“With our Harry Potter road trip, we want to provide the best of both worlds for kids and parents alike, touring beautiful Highland hotspots with a magical twist.”
“Plus, at just under eight hours in total, drivers can complete this road trip in a day or take their time with it throughout their holiday in Scotland.”
