Herald Poll: Is the Tartan Army a credit to Scotland?

German TV viewers have crowned Scotland’s fans as the best supporters at Euro 2024.

The Tartan Army has prevailed victorious from a poll conducted in Germany while the major tournament rumbles on.

According to German media outlet RTL, the Scots have officially been voted as the best supporters at the competition. Viewers of the German news channel cast the votes.

Scotland came out on top and won the voting by a landslide, claiming a score of 52 percent.

Scotland’s supporters are famous the world over – but this tournament seems to have solidified their reputation as the most welcome fans during international tournaments.

The Tartan Army has been dotted around various locations in Germany, with the vast majority congregating in the west.

It all started in Munich, with a flood of around 150,000 Scots migrating to the German city for the Group A opener to commence the tournament.

Unfortunately, the hosts proved too good for Scotland, as they easily won 5-1.

The second group match was in Cologne, with a hard-fought 1-1 draw earned against the Swiss.

It’s all eyes on Stuggart now though, with Scotland’s do-or-die clash against Hungary the main event on Sunday night.
