High street fashion chain relaunches loyalty scheme as it opens brand new stores
M&Co recently announced that it would be opening a new store in Newton Mearns in Scotland on May 3 – with more branches reportedly planned to open in the coming few months
Fashion retailer M&Co has relaunched its loyalty scheme as it makes a comeback to the British high street.
M&Co recently announced that it would be opening a new store in Newton Mearns in Scotland on May 3 – with more branches reportedly planned to open in the coming few months. The store would be the retailer’s first site to open after falling into the administration in 2022 which led to the closure of all its UK stores.
Alongside the new store, M&Co is also relaunching its loyalty scheme, allowing shoppers to build up points when they spend online. The membership scheme follows the same style as its older one, with shoppers collecting five points for every £1 they spend. When you reach 500 points, you can transfer your points into a £5 voucher. These Vouchers are then redeemed at the M&Co checkout.
The loyalty scheme launches in “early May” and for now shoppers can sign up online through the M&Co website or app. The loyalty scheme is only available on orders online for now and shoppers will not be able to collect their points in the physical store, although M&Co is hoping to introduce it soon.
Shoppers who previously had an account can start earning points straightaway whilst those who sign up for the first time can receive a free £5 voucher. Alongside this, M&Co says members will also be offered exclusive discounts when they shop.
M&Co’s new store in Scotland, which will create six jobs for the area, will be in the same location as the retailer’s old store which closed last year and will feature a range of clothing in UK sizes 8-20, including the M&Co petite range. To celebrate its return, M&Co will offer exclusive discounts for customers who attend the opening, including a £5 voucher off a £25 spend for the first 50 customers.
Last year, the retailer closed all of its 170 shops by the end of April, however, M&Co was saved when the brand and intellectual property were sold to Yours Clothing in February 2023. Yours Clothing, which also owns the clothing lines BadRhino, Long Tall Sally, and Bump It Up Maternity, launched a new M&Co website later in the year in June and announced plans to open stores up once again. At the time, it planned to open 50 new M&C0 stores over the next two years.
