Highways Magazine – Transport Scotland is official content partner of Road Expo

Transport Scotland will partner with Road Expo and Bridges Scotland once again as this leading event returns to the SEC Glasgow on 27-28 November.

The conference and exhibition – the largest traffic and transport event in Scotland – is expected to welcome more than 1,500 road, transport and bridge professionals through its doors.

Working in partnership with Transport Scotland, teams at Road Expo and Bridges Scotland will put together two extensive conference agendas that will update the industry on the latest news and sector-wide analysis.

Key schemes and topics on the programme this year include the A9 dualling, traffic management solutions, decarbonisation and clean air initiatives and bridge strikes.

Hazel McDonald, chief bridge engineer (head of structures) at Transport Scotland, said: ‘Having supported Road Expo and Bridges Scotland for a number of years, we’re always happy to share developments from our highways and bridge teams.

‘This year, we’re looking forward to providing updates on Traffic Scotland service evolution, low-emission zones, guidance for HGVs and bridge strikes, and reporting bridge precursor events and element failures, amongst other topics.

‘We always find the event a valuable opportunity to engage with the wider industry and see what ideas and innovations are brought to the fore by the private sector and the 32 local authorities.’

Khalifa Bokhammas, conference production manager, Hemming Group said: ‘It’s an exciting time to be involved in the roads and mobility sector in Scotland, with major projects like the dualling of the A9 and the introduction of low-emission zones attracting headlines.

‘We can’t wait to share updates on these initiatives and are hugely grateful to Transport Scotland for their support in ensuring our audience get to hear about the big issues from key stakeholders and industry leaders.’
