Hollywood’s Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden enjoy surprise Scottish trip

Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden have been enjoying a trip to the Scottish countryside.

The couple – who met on the set of Mary Queen of Scots in 2018 – enjoyed a day of hiking and swimming in the Highlands on Thursday.

Sharing snaps on his Instagram, Jack 33, wrote: “A misty AF Ben Vorlich, 3232ft.

“Munro number 10 for the team. Post hike dip in Loch Earn. Yaldy.”

Jack, who grew up in the Scottish Borders, showed his girlfriend around his home country as they visited Perthshire, claiming they had ‘bagged’ their 10th Munro.

The snaps show them at the summit of Ben Vorlich, alongside their terrier mixed breed, Fran.

The loved-up couple also enjoyed a dip the nearby Loch Earn.

The pair – who live in an impressive £2.5 million property in London – also recently climbed Ben Vrackie.

He recently sparked engagement rumours after posting a cryptic snap from a Scots mountain on Instagram.

The Mary Queen of Scots star posted a reel of photos of the stunning views at the summit of Ben Vrackie in Perthshire – with one photo possibly hinting at a proposal.

The snap showed four hands and a dog paw placing their hand on the viewpoint, with three of the hands showing off, what seems to be, engagement rings.

The 33-year-old Scots actor captioned the post: “Ben Vrackie, summit 2759ft. So not classed as a Munro, but a Corbett. Steep, beautiful path, unparalleled views of Perthshire, and the heather starting to put her purple on. Or…her OUT out outfit.”

Fans flocked to the comments to question Jack on whether he proposed to girlfriend Saoirse.

The couple have still not confirmed the rumours.
