HUGE Return On WWE SmackDown In Scotland
WWE had a tasty surprise for Scottish fans attending SmackDown in Glasgow.
Randy Orton returned to the ring for the first time since WWE’s King & Queen Of The Ring PLE on Friday’s episode of SmackDown in Glasgow, Scotland. Fans hadn’t seen the RKO master on TV in a featured spot since his loss to GUNTHER over in Saudi Arabia on 25 May.
The popular veteran rushed out to save good pal Kevin Owens from a three-on-one beatdown at the hands of Bloodline members Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. Meanwhile, a horrified and increasingly depressed Paul Heyman watched on from ringside with head in hands.
In storyline, Heyman has been despondent about Solo’s leadership skills. Pre-match with KO, Paul E also warned Sikoa that banking on wild cards like Tama and Loa would end up costing him in the long run. WWE will develop that story further before an inevitable Roman Reigns return.
Back to Orton.
Randy returned a favour Owens had done for him previously – KO had saved Orton from a similar kicking, and it looks like Triple H’s creative team will now plod on with the pair as a team for the rest of the year.
