Lanarkshire care home residents wish Scotland heroes well ahead of crunch match
Lanarkshire care home residents have sent well wishes to Scotland’s national team heroes ahead of their crunch Euro match.
Abercorn House Care Home residents have created heartfelt messages in support of Steve Clark’s men as they prepare to face Hungary in the final game of the group stages of the European Championship on Sunday, June 23.
Scotland head into the game knowing anything but three points will likely end any hopes of qualification for the knock out stages of the tournament.

But the Hamilton football fans hope that a determined performance could still see Scotland go through after a strong performance against Switzerland saw the side draw 1-1.
Irene Bolton, aged 71, who lives at the not-for-profit Lanarkshire home, used the pre-game anthem as a source of inspiration, stating: “All the best boys, let the flower of Scotland shine upon you!”
Meanwhile, “best of luck” was the simple motivational message shared by 95-year-old resident Catherine Meek.
The activities team at Abercorn House Care Home is preparing a small party and cinematic showing in the residents’ lounge ahead of the Scottish side’s final group stage match.
Von Ryan Ong, Activities Coordinator at Abercorn House Care Home said: “Many of our residents are lifelong football fans so it’s perhaps no surprise that Euro fever has well and truly taken over Abercorn House Care Home.
“As we grow older, our pastimes remain incredibly important and make our residents who they truly are. Ensuring that they can continue to experience the passions they enjoyed when they were younger by arranging special events and activities like this is just one example of how we enrich lives in our home.
“It’s been wonderful to see our residents getting into the spirit. Come on Scotland, do us proud!”
