Leading financial mutual CEO joins the Board of Action for Children Developments Limited – Scottish Business News
LEADING financial mutual, Scottish Friendly, has announced the appointment of CEO Stephen McGee to the Board of Action for Children Developments Limited as a Non-Executive Director.
Action for Children Developments look after commercial trading, property transactions and other developments that support Action for Children’s mission.
As one of Scotland’s largest children’s charities and service providers, the third sector group deliver their mission to create more safe and happy childhoods with over 850 staff at around 90 services across 30 local authorities. This includes intervention against child criminal exploitation, fostering, residential and short breaks among others.
In his new capacity, McGee will attend and contribute to meetings quarterly to consider and discuss a broad range of commercial matters, including areas of operational activity, finance, and strategy, as well as annual meetings to review and sign-off the year end annual accounts. He will also be invited to the Charity’s annual Joint National Advisory and Co-opted members meeting.
With substantial experience in financial services and an unwavering commitment to helping create a better future for young people, McGee brings a wealth of experience to this role. This is evident in his leadership at Scottish Friendly, where the organisation has not only excelled in financial performance but has made significant strides to enrich the communities they serve.
With a purpose which extends beyond the provision of financial wellbeing, this appointment reflects Scottish Friendly’s ambition to help build stronger, more resilient communities and harmonises their existing partnership with Action for Children.
