Maass joins the team after spending the 2023-24 season playing for the South Carolina Stingrays. Having played parts of three seasons as a pro, the 25-year old has called it a career.
Hailing from Elk River, Minn., Maass played five seasons of NCAA hockey with New Hampshire and Minnesota State from 2017-2022. Over the course of 162 games, he collected 51 points.
As Maass gets set to join the Lions behind the bench, he will have the opportunity to act as a mentor. Only being a couple years removed from playing in the NCAA himself, Maass will be able to offer a unique perspective and show what it takes to succeed as a pro.
