Man found dead at Scots beauty spot as cops investigate ‘unexplained’ death
POLICE have launched an investigation into an “unexplained” death of a man after he was found dead at a popular Scottish beauty spot.
Emergency crews were called to the tragedy on the Ness Islands in Inverness this morning.
The alarm was raised at around 10.50am after police received reports of the death of a man.
A heavy police presence has been in the area after the tragic discovery.
Numerous officers were spotted at the scene blocking the entrance to the Ness Islands.
Blye tape sealed off the bridge to the islands as well as the entry off Island Bank Road.
Officers were also standing guard stopping the public from accessing a path from the opposite area of the site this morning.
Cops confirmed that the death is being treated as “unexplained”.
The force has launched an investigation into the incident and said that enquiries are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of the death of a man on Ness Islands, Inverness, around 10.50am on Monday, 15 July, 2024.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
The Ness Islands are a collection of natural islands that sit in the middle of the River Ness.
