Maple Leafs Agitator Fined For Elbowing Flyers Forward

NHL Player Safety has announced that Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi has been fined $5,000 for elbowing Philadelphia Flyers forward Garnet Hathaway. This is the maximum allowable fine under the current CBA.

Seeing Domi get a fine for his elbow on Hathaway is not particularly surprising. Domi’s elbow connected with Hathaway’s head on the play, and it was not subtle in the slightest.

Domi received a two-minute minor penalty for elbowing on the play.

It is important to note that Hathaway injured Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe in a fight earlier in the contest. Thus, this Domi elbow undoubtedly looked like retaliation for that.
