Meet the Scotland WAGS who will be adding spice from the Euro 2024 stands
THE atmosphere will reach fever pitch when Scotland open Euro 2024 against Germany — with the Wags adding spice from the stands.
All focus should be on manager Steve Clarke’s side when they kick off the tournament on Friday alongside the host nation.
But if the football isn’t eye-catching enough, it seems certain the cameras will capture players’ glamorous other halves.
From models to artists and social workers, the lads’ ladies are a successful bunch in their own right and their support will play a huge role in the country’s success.
Sara Stokes
ASTON Villa midfielder John McGinn, 29, popped the question to social worker Sara Stokes in 2022.
The couple got together when the Tartan Army star was a young player at St Mirren more than a decade ago.
Although the pair keep their lives low-key, McGinn previously hailed his fiancée.
He said of her Midlands move: “When she came down here with me she thought, ‘Everyone thinks I am just going to sponge off John, that I’m coming down here for a holiday’.
“So she decided ‘stuff that’ and did three years at uni and she is now a social worker.
“There are times when I have been so wrapped up in my own little bubble I forget how tough her reality is when she is working with kids who are going through awful times.”
Rachel Robertson
SKIPPER Andy Robertson, 30, met wife Rachel while both were at St Ninian’s High School in Giffnock.
The Liverpool ace and his sweetheart married two years ago and have two children, Rocco, six, and Aria, five.
Rachel has largely managed to avoid the limelight and focused on her own family and business interests. She graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2016 with a degree in maths and languages.
She is also owner of OroSport, a gymnastics clothing brand she focused on after jobs in the financial sector.
The company also specialises in leotards and dancewear.
Laura MacFarlane
GREG Taylor is celebrating and the Euros haven’t even started yet – as he just got married.
The Celtic defender, 26, wed childhood sweetheart Laura Macfarlane in Ibiza earlier this month.
Their big day came after left-back Taylor popped the question with a lake-side proposal on a romantic Greek getaway in 2022.
Laura was led hand in hand to a love heart made out of candles, before her hubby-to-be got down on one knee.
The blonde, from Greenock, is a qualified nurse who graduated from the University of Glasgow.
Together since they were in high school, the couple have a lot of respect for their respective careers.
Taylor once said: “To be with someone who works in the NHS puts everything else into perspective.
“I couldn’t be more proud of her.”
Robyn Keen
MODEL Robyn Keen, the partner of defender Jack Hendry, is also a clinical psychologist.
Robyn is expecting her first child with Jack who is at Saudi side Al-Ettifaq.
The couple met in 2018 when he was at Celtic.
She studied psychology at Nottingham Uni, neuroscience at King’s College London and neuroanatomy at Cambridge.
Georgie Bell
BOURNEMOUTH midfielder Ryan Christie, 29, isn’t the only creative spark in his relationship — as his partner Georgie Bell is a painter.
The couple, who have son Leo, got engaged in 2022. Georgie, of Tomatin, Inverness-shire, has a degree in Contemporary Art Practice from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.
Georgie taught herself how to paint and now runs her studio in Poole, Dorset, where clients can commission work.
Her website offers pieces ranging from £250 to £2,000.
Cam Reading
WITH nearly 30,000 Instagram followers, Scott McTominay’s girlfriend Cam Reading is building her own fanbase.
The couple have been dating since last year and the Manchester United midfielder, 27, occasionally posts pictures of the pair together on Instagram.
