Moment German WWE star trolls Scots at Glasgow event during Euro 2024 demolition
IT was a devastating night for Scots as Julian Nagelsmann’s Germans put a serious damper on their big night in Munich.
Scotland fans were left gutted while watching the hosts inflict a humiliating defeat on Steve Clarke‘s men in the tournament’s opener.
But while the whole nation were given a brutal reality check on the international stage, there was one man in Glasgow who was revelling in the occasion.
And he couldn’t resist the urge to troll Scotland during the match as things went from bad to worse for the Tartan Army at the Munich Football Arena.
German WWE star Marcel Barther, whose stage name is Ludwig Kaiser, couldn’t watch his country open the Euros in style as he was on duty in Glasgow for last night’s Friday Night Smackdown event at the OVO Hydro.
The WWE is back in Glasgow with fans counting down to tonight’s highly-anticipated Clash At The Castle show – the first PPV event from the sports and entertainment company to hail from Scotland.
It will see Scotland’s own Drew McIntyre, who was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame this week, take to the stage in front of a home crowd to recapture his heavyweight title.
But up first was last night’s Smackdown show – and Ludwig Kaiser didn’t waste any time and made his presence known in Glasgow when called to the ring.
He took on Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn in the dark match of the night, and it was perfect timing for the German star as his clash was scheduled during Scotland’s opener with Germany.
Scotland were losing 3-0 at the time and were down to 10 men following Ryan Porteous‘ red card.
And the WWE star took his moment and trolled all of the Scots in attendance by entering the arena wearing a Germany top and made gestures to the crowd.
His entrance wasn’t welcomed by those watching on but he went one step further and held three fingers up as he walked into the ring to indicate the scoreline at the time.
It’s fair to say they weren’t his biggest fans from then on but he knew it would get a reaction from the crowd.
But the Scots had the last laugh as the 33-year-old went on to lose his clash with Zayn.
Attention now turns towards tonight’s huge PPV event, with McIntyre headlining the long-awaited televised event in Scotland.
Clash At The Castle last took place in Cardiff and was a huge success as the most-viewed and highest-rated international premium live event in WWE history at the time.
