Almost everyone knows that Connor McDavid got married this summer. However, there have been very little photos and videos of his practice habits over the summer.

That is until a new video and pictures surfaced yesterday.

The video shows Auston Matthews dishing a pass to McDavid, who fires a shot on the goalie. It’s a brief video, but very cool to see two superstars at work during the off season.

The skate took place in Munich, of all places. They skated alongside goalie Christopher Kolarz of the local DEL Red Bull team. Afterwards, they posed with the goaltender for a candid photo.

Both players appear to be very calm individuals off the ice. So it would be easy for the two to participate in something like this. Hockey expanding to non-traditional markets like Germany can only be a good thing for the sport.

Additionally, Matthews himself made headlines in recent history. Primarily because he was named the 26th captain in the Toronto Maple Leafs history.

With training camp right around the corner, it’s entirely possible that captain skates will begin in Edmonton very soon. The Oilers have some self professed “unfinished business” to tend to.

Until those skates begin, it will be interesting to see what else happens in Oil Country. Summer is certainly coming to a slow end.
