NEW ROAD MARKINGS ON THE A7 IN HAWICK – BEAR Scotland

  • Overnight works Monday 22 July 2024

Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland is set to install new road markings on approximately 150 metres of the A7 carriageway in Hawick. These works will take place on the night of Monday 22 July.

To ensure the safety of workers and road users, temporary traffic lights will be in place on the A7 at Buccleuch Road, near Volunteer Park, from 19:30 until 06:30.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders including local authorities and Police Scotland in advance of these works.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These works will contribute to the delivery of a new controlled pedestrian crossing, which will improve safety for pedestrian and cyclists travelling along this stretch of the A7 in Hawick.

“We’re grateful to road users and the local community for their patience and understanding.”

All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement or cancellation in the event of adverse conditions.

Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland at www.traffic.gov.scot, or on X at @trafficscotland.
