Outlander’s Sam Heughan enjoys Scotland’s great outdoors in kayaking trip

Sam Heughan has delighted fans with his recent update on social media. The Outlander star shared a snippet into enjoying some time away from his busy schedule to soak up Scotland’s outdoors.

The Scottish actor, 44, is famed for his role as Highland warrior Jamie Fraser in Diana Gabaldon‘s Outlander franchise, which was adapted for the small screen by production company Starz. Fans soon fell in love with his portrayal of the role, and his personal life.

Sam shared some photos and clips from his trip kayaking at the beach. “Scotland… ya BEAUTY!,” he simply captioned the snaps on his Instagram page to his 4.3 million followers. He was sailing through the icy depths of the cold blue waters, as he panned the camera around to take in the idyllic scenery.

The acting star stopped to pose for a selfie whilst out at sea, as he sported a black cap, red waterproof jacket and of course not without safety first, he also wore a light blue life jacket. He looked reflective at the camera, as he held the paddle in his other hand.

Another snap showed three kayaks lined up on the shorefront, suggesting he took the trip out to sea with some pals. The gorgeous landscape showed Scotland in its true beauty – surrounded by golden sands, turqouise waters and rockery.
