Owen & Taylor Tippett Named Ambassadors For Flyers Learn To Play Program
Philadelphia Flyers forward Owen Tippett and his wife, Taylor, will serve as official ambassadors for the Flyers’ Learn to Play Rookie Program during the 2024-25 season.
The Learn to Play Program was introduced to help introduce young boys and girls (ranging from five to nine years old) to the game of hockey and is held across 15 local rinks.
The Tippetts will be involved with various different levels of the program, including “a special opportunity to be randomly selected to receive a “Golden Ticket” to a special postgame meet and greet with Tippett at an upcoming Flyers game.”
The Flyers have also announced that applications for the 2024 Flyers Charities Scholarship are open “to ensure that all children are able to access the sport of hockey regardless of their background.”
“My wife Taylor and I are thrilled to to serve as ambassadors for the Flyers Learn to Play Program,” Tippett said in a press release. “I remember like it was yesterday the first time I hit the ice and it’s such a special feeling. Now, to have the opportunity to help introduce young kids to the game of hockey is something Taylor and I are extremely passionate about and excited to be a part of.”
First launched in 2017, the the Flyers Learn to Play Rookie Program has helped introduce “over 5,500 kids in the Greater Philadelphia Region to the sport of hockey.”
