Police uncover £796,000 cannabis farm during search of Scots industrial unit
Police uncovered a cannabis farm worth up to nearly £800,000 during the search of an industrial unit in Ayrshire.
Officers executed a warrant at the unit in Lugar, near Cumnock, at around 11.10am on Thursday.
Over 1,300 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of between £265,000 and £796,000 were seized.
Detective Inspector Craig Gilmour said: “Officers remain at the scene and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“We are appealing for anyone with information to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 1148 of Thursday, May 23, 2024.
“Drugs cause misery in our communities and the public has an important role to play in helping Police Scotland target those responsible for the cultivation, supply and sale of illegal substances.
“We encourage anyone with concerns or information about drugs to contact us on 101 or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
