In July 2024, americana legend Phil Lee will be returning to the eastern shores of the Atlantic Ocean for a series of dates in England and Scotland. For the Scottish dates, he will be accompanied by the equally legendary Tommy Womack as the Government Cheese and Daddy musician cuts over from dates in Ireland.
Lee is one of those characters who’s been around the music scene since forever and may well be the only person who can claim to have played in both The Flying Burrito Brothers and Crazy Horse. The latter’s Ralph Molina said of Lee: “He’s got the songs. We wouldn’t play with him if he didn’t have the songs. He should be playing stadiums, arenas but he’s playing in living rooms.”
Womack, in addition to being a recording and touring musician is an accomplished songwriter whose works have been recorded by the likes of Jimmy Buffett, Jason Ringenberg, Dan Baird, David Olney, Todd Snider, Kevin Fowler and Scott Kempner.
The pair are joined on the Scottish dates by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Ben Reel. Dates are as follows:
