Public urged ‘not to approach’ wanted prisoner who may be in Scotland

A manhunt is under way to trace a wanted prisoner who is on the run and may be in Scotland.

Abdul Rashid David Gani has been wanted by police for five months with Avon and Somerset Police first appealing for the public’s help to trace him in December 2023.

Their appeal was renewed on Monday with the public urged not to approach the 34-year-old.

Gani is described as black, around 5ft 9ins tall, of muscular build, with short black hair and a beard.

The force said that Gani has links to south and central Bristol – but is believed to have recently travelled to Birmingham and Scotland.

If you see him, call Avon and Somerset Police immediately and quote reference 5223310372.
