Rangers: Ryan Jack injury news as Scotland demand emerges

Ryan Jack will be given the opportunity to prove his fitness to Steve Clarke, but the Scotland boss will demand honesty and transparency from the Rangers midfielder, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.

The newspaper shared in its print edition [20 March, page 74] that Jack, alongside Brentford’s Aaron Hickey and Celtic’s Callum McGregor, will be given time to prove himself.

This comes amid scrutiny of players with poor injury records ahead of the European Championships, with Clarke finding a balance between staying loyal to his players and making the tough decisions.

Will Ryan Jack return to fitness at Rangers before the end of the season?

Jack has struggled with injury and fitness issues throughout the domestic season so far, but as explained by the Scottish Daily Mail, Clarke is keen to give faith in players like Jack who have been loyal to the national team during his tenure.

This comes just days after Chris Jack insisted he would be surprised if Jack signs an extension on his contract at Ibrox, which is set to expire this summer, as a result of his poor injury record this season in particular as he has hardly featured.

However, Philippe Clement is hoping that Jack could return to the first team at Ibrox following the international break, missing Scotland’s games against the Netherlands and Northern Ireland as he hopes to remain fit.

If, upon his inclusion back into the Rangers squad, Jack can prove his fitness, his ability, and whether he can play consistent minutes, he could put himself in with an excellent chance of making Clarke’s squad for the Euros.
