Rangers stand-ins vs Hearts rated as 6 audition for Celtic cup final starts
It might not have meant much in terms of the league, but Rangers had to try and put on a show today for their fans ahead of the Scottish Cup final.
Hearts looked keen to spoil those plans as, like against Dundee, the Gers started slowly and went in behind at the break. But Philippe Clement’s side saved their best for the second half and scored three quality goals through Ross McCausland, Todd Cantwell and Fabio Silva. The Jambos turned into party poopers again though by coming back from 3-1 down to draw the game with Kyosuke Tagawa scoring deep into stoppage time.
The Light Blues have started poorly in games against Celtic already this season and will have to try and avoid doing so again at Hampden. Amid a litany of injuries and suspensions, they’ve had some fringe men playing in the last couple of games and that was the case again today.
Ross McCausland was the stand-out but here we assess the performances of all of them.
