Rating Some Of The Best Halloween Costumes Across The NHL

Dallas Stars fans Chris Glenn and Danielle Glenn show off their Spider-Man and Spider-Woman Halloween costumes while watching Jason Dickinson and Ilya Lyubushkin battle for the puck on Oct. 26.

Halloween is nearly here, and costumes across the NHL are in full force.

Players, coaches and staff lean into expressing themselves when Halloween comes, whether it’s impressive costumes to inside jokes to hilariously simple outfits.

Let’s look at some of the standout Halloween costumes and rate them out of 10.

Joseph Brothers Perfect The White Chicks Homage

You either commit to the bit or don’t commit at all. Pierre-Oliver and Mathieu Joseph did just that with their White Chicks outfits, from the wardrobe down to the makeup. Everything about it is an excellent way to remember one of the funniest movies of the early 2000s.

Marc-Andre Fleury Is McLovin

One of the NHL’s funniest players fully understood the assignment. Fleury tapped into being McLovin from the cult classic film Superbad, finding the right glasses and outfit, pushing down his hair and even wearing McLovin’s fake Hawaii state ID on his vest.

Jakub Lauko Had The Best Lord Of The Rings Outfit

The Minnesota Wild players, as a whole, dive into Halloween. But when it comes to a Lord of the Rings costume, none will top Jakub Lauko.

Lauko is a massive fan of the film series, telling reporters before that he read all the books and has multiple Lord Of The Rings tattoos, including a Gandalf quote and artwork from all three films.

For Halloween, Lauko went all-in, going as the Witch-king of Angmar. There’s no way any other NHLer attempting an LOTR costume is topping this.

N.W.A. x L.A. Kings

The Los Angeles Kings got into their classic hip-hop bag with the N.W.A. fits. Bonus points go to having Brandt Clarke portray the group’s manager, Jerry Heller. Ryan Kennedy said this group’s costumes are some of his favorite ever.

Spencer Carbery Takes On Beetlejuice

Usually, the costumes that get the most attention in the NHL come from the players. But Washington Capitals coach Spencer Carbery got in on the fun with an incredible Beetlejuice outfit. The rest of his roster has a challenge to top this next season.

Jake Neighbours Is Dedicated To Hot Dog Life

While the outfit isn’t original, some points must be given to St. Louis Blues left winger Jake Neighbours. Year in and year out, he’s stayed to the look of being a hot dog for Halloween without needing to find or buy anything else. It looks like it still fits him.

Nathan ‘RayGun’ Walker

If anyone in the NHL was going to impersonate Australian breakdancer ‘Raygun,’ who made headlines for scoring zeroes at the 2024 Olympics, it would be the only Australian national to play in the NHL, Nathan Walker. While the outfit is simple, seeing him playing into the look is still funny.
