Report: Former Sabres Forward Being Shopped

Things are going terribly for the New York Rangers, as they have lost 11 out of their last 14 games. Due to their struggles, they have already traded Jacob Trouba and Kaapo Kakko, and more moves are expected to occur as they continue their roster shakeup. A former Buffalo Sabres forward could be one of the next Rangers dealt.

According to The Athletic’s Arthur Staple, a source informed that the New York Rangers have been shopping former Sabres forward Jimmy Vesey since late November.

It is not surprising to hear that the Rangers have made Vesey available. The 31-year-old is a pending unrestricted free agent and could be a decent option for clubs looking to improve their bottom six.

Vesey has had a bit of a quiet start to this season, posting two goals and one assist in 17 games thus far. However, during this past campaign, he had 13 goals and 26 points in 80 games with the Rangers, so he has the potential to provide more offense.

Vesey spent the 2019-20 season as a member of the Sabres, where he had nine goals, 20 points, and a plus-12 rating in 64 contests.
