Sabres & Red Wings Could Swing Trade
On the most recent episode of Sportsnet’s Saturday Headlines, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported that the Buffalo Sabres and Detroit Red Wings are scouting one another and are emerging as potential trade partners.

“The Red Wings and the Sabres continue to scout each other,” Friedman said. “I do think those two teams looked at something there right before the break. We’ll see if that continues.”
Friedman did not specify which players the Sabres or Red Wings could be interested in, but there is no question that this is something to watch. Buffalo and Detroit have both performed below expectations this campaign and could use roster shakeups.
While the Sabres are riding a two-game winning streak, they lost 13 games straight before it. The Red Wings, on the other hand, have lost four straight games and seven out of their last 10 games. Both clubs are also tied at the bottom of the Atlantic Division standings.
We will need to wait and see if the Sabres and Red Wings swing a move from here.
