Scotland Predicted Lineup vs. Hungary – Midfielder Set to Start After Outstanding Performance vs. Switzerland
Scotland face Hungary on June 23 at the Stuttgart Arena. This will be the final group game of Euro 2024 for the Tartan Army, with this fixture being a must-win for the Scots, which would all but guarantee Steve Clarke’s team a place in the knockout stages. The team recovered well in the second game as they battled to a 1-1 draw against Switzerland after being demolished 5-1 by a rampant Germany. Here is our Scotland predicted lineup for this must-win game.
Scotland Predicted Lineup vs. Hungary
How Scotland Have Lined-up Recently
The Tartan Army mostly line up in a 3-4-2-1 formation with Norwich City goalkeeper Angus Gunn in goal. Steve Clarke, unfortunately, lost his two preferred right-backs before the tournament, meaning Anthony Ralston has started both games at Euro 2024. In the last game, with Ryan Porteous suspended after his red card against Germany, it was Jack Hendry, Grant Hanley and Kieran Tierney starting in a back three, with Ralston and Andrew Robertson starting in the win-back positions.

Following the heavy defeat against Germany, Billy Gilmour came in for the second game alongside Callum McGregor, with Steve Clarke describing both as “outstanding” after the second game draw. Ahead of these two, it’s expected we will see Scott McTominay and John McGinn get the nod. We are expecting Adams to start in attack because of his excellent work rate.
Scotland Recent Form and Tactics
The Tartan Army endured a difficult build-up to Euro 2024, blowing a 2-0 lead against Finland and experiencing heavy defeats against Netherlands and France. A victory against Gibraltar was the Tartan Army’s first win since their 3-0 success vs. Cyprus on September 8, 2023.

After the opening game defeat, Steve Clarke’s men showed their toughness, grinding out a draw against the Swiss to keep their knockout hopes alive. We expect Scotland to line up in their consistent 3-4-2-1 formation for this huge clash in Stuggart.
Scotland Injuries and Suspensions to Consider
With Porteous out suspended and Kieron Tierney injured, we expect Scott McKenna will come into the defence.
