Scotland team cancels walk in Stuttgart after too many fans show up at hotel

THROUGHOUT the Euros so far, Scotland’s stars have enjoyed an early afternoon walk around the city they’re in on a matchday.

Today’s planned walk in Stuttgart, however, was CANCELLED.

Scotland were in Cologne to face Switzerland on Wednesday, and several hours before the game, Steve Clarke‘s squad were spotted enjoying a wander around the impressive city.

They went on to draw that match 1-1, a result that means a win over Hungary tonight should see us through to the last 16.

Tonight’s seismic clash is taking place in Stuttgart and the squad had once again planned on heading out of the grounds of their hotel for a wander around the city around 1pm.

However, the clock struck that time and the players were absolutely nowhere to be seen.

In fact, they didn’t emerge from the hotel at all.

It soon became apparent that the traditional walk had been CANCELLED.

Why? Because too many fans showed up!

SunSport’s exclusive video from outside the team’s Stuttgart base shows a large number of Tartan Army fans stood across the road, with many more huddled and crowded around the entrance to the hotel.

The team’s bus can also been seen outside.

But what couldn’t be seen outside was the squad itself, with punters who were hoping for a glimpse of their heroes left disappointed.

Instead, the players stayed within the hotel complex and stretchered the legs in the internal courtyard.

A win over Hungary tonight would move Scotland onto four points in Group A.

That SHOULD be enough for Clarke’s men to become the first Scotland team ever to make it into the knockout stages of a major tournament.

However, it’s likely nothing will be known for certain tonight.

The only ways that would lead to a certain outcome tonight are either a defeat that would see Scotland eliminated or a six-goal swing in Scotland’s favour over Switzerland, who take on Germany in the other Group A finale.

Finishing third with four points should be enough to see us through as one of the best third-placed teams, something that would be denied only by a series of unexpected results throughout several other groups.
