He had checked out of his hotel in the Polish city but never showed up for his flight back to Glasgow.

Worries for Sam increased after he hadn’t been in contact with relatives since he failed to return.

Last Sunday, three days after he was due back in Scotland, family members desperately shared appeals for anyone with information to help find him.

His sister Robyn shared a picture of him on Facebook and called on anyone to share it to help locate him.

Cops also got involved in the search for the missing Scot.

Police Scotland confirmed they were liaising with the Polish National Police and Interpol amid the search for Sam.

The Foreign Office were also involved and were supporting Sam’s family throughout the bid to find him.

Thousands of people shared the posts to help find him as fears for his safety grew.
