Scottish caravan park, right on a stunning beach, named the best in the UK

Thanks to the flexibility and cost, caravaning holidays are become increasingly popular and an ideal way to explore the country, spotting wildlife and enjoying the great outdoors.
It’s also the perfect way to take in scenic landscapes. From coastal routes to wilderness getaways, they provide a unique experience with both comfort and convenience.
Their popularity had led to a big increase in caravan parks and sites springing up around the UK. Now the team at GO Outdoors rounded up over 100 sites to help find out which is the best choice for a summer holiday and a stunning Scottish coastal site came out tops.
The team looked at cost, user reviews, amenities, and more to produce a handy caravanning hotspot guide, with Auchenlarie Holiday Park near Castle Douglas bagging number one slot as both best overall site and also best family site in the UK.
The Park is situated on the picturesque Dumfries and Galloway coast, has an average user review rating of 4.57 stars out of five, with visitors citing the idyllic views of Wigtown Bay and affordable food at the on-site shop.
The site, given a caravanning score of 9.98/10, is also pet-friendly, so holidaymakers can bring their furry friend along too.
And it’s a big hit with families thanks to the games room, swimming pool, and on-site entertainment which provide plenty of activities to enjoy throughout the day.
Beach-lovers also rave about it as it’s right next to the stunning Auchenlarie Beach, with soft sands and fabulous wading.
The park offers excellent value for money, considering a weekend stay in July costs around just £75.
Bucklegrove Holiday Park lifted the title of best in England and second best in the UK, with a caravanning score of 9.79/10
Situated between Cheddar and Wells in Somerset, it is rated 4.44 stars out of five by users, and it is loved for its clean facilities and stunning views of the Somerset Levels and Brent Knoll.
The park is pet-friendly, meaning your four-legged family members doesn’t have to miss out on the holiday. The on-site games room, swimming pool and entertainment facilities provide activities for everyone.
A weekend stay in July costs from around £79 per pitch.
Tencreek Holiday Park in Cornwall came a very respectful third with a caravanning score of 9.47/10 and average user rating of 4.30 out of five stars.
Caravaners love the clean facilities and friendly staff and a single-axle caravan can stay for a weekend in July for around £98.
The site is also pet friendly and the games room, swimming pool, and on-site entertainment facilities provide daily activities for family and friends to enjoy.
There is a shop at the park with all the essentials you might need while caravanning, and it is less than a 10-minute drive to the local beach.
