Scottish cleantech company secures £230,000 funding
Heero Technologies has secured £230,000 of bridge financing from existing lead investor TRICAPITAL Angels and Scottish Enterprise, ahead of a planned Series A funding round.
The Dundee-based clean tech software company’s app aims to address the challenges often associated with energy retrofit projects, such as the disruption caused by invasive measures, energy efficiency financing and grant uncertainty, identifying trusted installers, as well as allowing flexibility and choice over technologies to implement.
Launched in 2022, the company is a spinout of IRT Surveys, a 20-year-old venture-funded software firm that pioneered the use of thermal imaging to understand building performance.
Chief executive Nicola Kennedy said: “This investment is further endorsement of the app and the value it brings in the energy efficiency space, simplifying the retrofit journey for homeowners and householders, while streamlining the user experience.
“The funds will allow us to continue developing opportunities across different sectors, including local authorities, utilities, financial institutions and retail, amongst others.”
Moray Martin, TRICAPITAL’s chief executive, added: “Heero has hit all of its proof points and we are delighted to be able to support them as they plot a pathway through this critical stage in their lifecycle.
