Comedian Susie McCabe, will be joining Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI) at the Highlands and Islands Business Excellence Awards.

Nicola McAlley, STV news reporter, and comedian Susie McCabe, will be joining Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI) at the Highlands and Islands Business Excellence Awards.

Nicola is a reporter for STV News covering the Highlands, Islands and Moray and an ambassador for local charities. Susie is one of the most sought-after performers in the UK and is also a firm Edinburgh festival favourite.

Businesses still have time to enter the awards which celebrate the positive impact that they have on their communities and the wider economy.

The awards ceremony will take place on 14 th September at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness, and features nine categories that are designed to highlight the success stories of the nominees:

  • The Alvance Aluminium Award for Outstanding Business Leader
  • The Bakkafrost Scotland Award for Outstanding Island Business
  • The Benromach Award for Excellence in International Business
  • The Crown Estate Scotland Award for Outstanding Supporter of Coastal Communities
  • The Highlands and Islands Enterprise Award for Innovation
  • The Highland Council Award for Purposeful Business
  • The Loganair Award for Excellence in Customer Service, Care & Experience
  • The SSEN Transmission Award for Excellence in Local Supply Chain
  • The Stromar Award for Excellence in Natural Capital, Climate Change and Sustainable Communities

Grant Campbell, SCDI’s regional manager for the Highlands & Islands, said: “This is SCDI’s 23rd Highlands & Islands Business Excellence Awards and it is a highlight of many business calendars in the region. The awards have been created to showcase the diverse nature of businesses in the Highlands and Islands and their contribution to Scotland’s economy. Our judging panel look forward to finding out more about the positive impact that businesses are having on their communities.”
